Takeshi Hongo is captured by the evil secret organization Shocker that plots to take over the world and is forced to undergo surgery to become a warrior for the organization. However, Hongo manages to escape just before his brain is modified and decides to fight as Kamen Rider No.1 to protect the world from Shocker. Alongside Hayato Ichimonji, Kamen Rider No.2, who also underwent the same operation, Hongo battles the monsters of Shocker and later Gelshocker. This heroic struggle marks the beginning of the Kamen Rider legacy, the origin of a series that has continued for more than 50 years.
